Every Italian family knows that fresh, quality ingredients need to be kept on hand to create truly inspiring dishes. The tomatoes in this rich sauce taste like they were just picked from the vine. Nonna Nunzi Muffaletta Primi

An Italian immigrant named Toni Lovi created the first Muffaletta sandwich in New Orleans at the turn of the century. The sandwich was stacked with Italian salami, ham, provolone cheese, on freshly baked bread, with a very special ingredient—a secret olive spread. While no one knows the original recipe for this spread, Nonna Nunzi’s version is a savory combination of green and black olives, garlic, roasted red peppers and extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy it as a spread or as a delicious seasoning for roasted fish.

This small-batch extra virgin olive oil is harvested from the olive trees lining the Bello family estate in Rutherford. Our Mission and Manzanillo olives are hand-picked and pressed immediately to ensure fresh flavors. These olives result in oil that has a floral aroma and flavors of tropical fruit and fresh artichoke. Enjoy on salads or for dipping bread.
