From the Stagecoach Vineyard this Syrah was entirely destemmed and fermented whole berry using native yeast. It spent 35 days in the vat in contact with its skins during which time extraction was achieved using both pump-overs and punch-down techniques. The wine was drained to barrel warm and aged in French oak for 20 months before being bottled without filtration.
A rich entry of bacon, licorice, blackberry, black cherry, tar, and chocolate with black currants. Great structure and impressive and lengthy finish with tar, tobacco and black fruits.
