A difficult vintage that required an experienced winemaker's deft hand. A series of rains came through Napa Valley at harvest time that presented the danger of mold damage. Winemakers with experience outside California's ideal vineyard climate produced wines of great complexity and elegance that will be excellent for early drinkers. Fermented on indigenous yeast in French Oak Barrels coopered in Burgundy at cold tempratures. Full malolactic fermentation. Left "sur lies" during the 20 month aging process.
Pear, melon, peach, toasted almond, vanilla, lychee, big rich attack, creme brulee, orange, toffee, with almond and melon in a long finish.
