2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Library Wine)

Bello Family Vineyards 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from 3 different Vineyards. The first is Avina in Rutherford on Bale Clay Loam on the Rutherford Bench farmed by Gustavo Avina. Second is Star Vineyard also in Rutherford on Gravel Loam Bench Soils farmed by David Abreu and lastly Scully Vineyard from Mt. Veeder Blocks 3 and 4 farmed by David Abreu. The wine was aged for 18 months in 50% New French Oak barrels from small coopers.

Tasting Notes:
Black currant, cherry, green tobacco and cedar, soft entry and medium weight on the mid palette. Good finish with soft tannins and good integration.

Winemaker Notes:
The 2006 wines are wines of charm. Initially they had great richness in the barrel. This gave way and the wine thinned out somewhat. They are well balanced and elegant, showing a great deal of complexity. 2006 is a vintage for the future for those that like older wines. Winemaker: Aaron Pott
